Fabulous Santorini

I wonder how many articles have been written about the unique, the dazzling Santorini?

There’s probably scores of us who’ve imagined taking snaps of the imposing caldera or swimming in the warm waters next to the volcano.

The island of Thira, as its ancient name is, is located just a few miles south of Amorgos.

Its airport is very popular, making it a starting point or final destination for many island hopping travelers.

From Amorgos to Santorini it’s a one-hour trip by the Seajets speedboat; alternatively, if you want to travel on Sunday, there’s also the three-hour trip on the small ferry Express Skopelitis.

Santorini is the number one destination in Greece and one of the top destinations worldwide.

This means that from early spring to autumn it’s almost always full.

I prefer to visit it in October when the weather is still warm and the island is not so busy.

Undoubtedly, it’s a destination worth visiting at least once in our lifetime.
